July 3rd is Election Day for the District Council election.  Polling Station is St. Andrews Church Hall. The by election is caused by the retirement of long-serving Lib Dem District Councillors David and Diane Shevels, who have retired to Somerset after 19 years service at Mid Sussex District Council.

Denis Jones endorses Janice Henwood and Graham Knight for District Councillors

Putting themselves up for election are Graham Knight and Janice Henwood.  Both are experienced Lib Dem campaigners and have served the Burgess Hill community in various ways for 30 years.  They know about the challenges facing St. Andrews and will be working in a Lib Dem team which has more experience than almost any other when it comes to championing your causes.

I look forward to the electors of St. Andrews ward electing Janice and Graham, so they can give the ward the support needed at Mid Sussex District Council to solve our local problems.  We have the future of the Keymer Tile Works looming, there are chronic car parking problems in the area, particularly around Cants Lane and Junction Road.  There is a problem with speeding all over our area and Lib Dems are working to get a car park built at Wivelsfield railway station.  They have also started the process of having the infants playground at Worlds End Recreation ground upgraded to a modern standard.  Our children deserve better than the outdated and neglected equipment they have to use at the moment.  Lib Dems are confident they can get the improvements needed.

Janice and Graham are depending on the voters of St. Andrews to vote Lib Dem on July 3rd.  Labour and the Greens cannot win.  It’s between the the Lib Dems and the Conservatives, so every vote will keep the Lib Dems running St Andrews ward.
